Summer Speaker Series
Join us for our Summer Speaker Series, where we will hear all about Sitka Jazz Week and what this year's events entail.
Founded by bassist Christian Fabian, Sitka Jazz Week is a one-of-a-kind celebration bringing world-class jazz to Sitka each summer. Now in its third year, the event draws national attention and top-tier musicians while uplifting the local community.
The week focuses on four key goals:

The week focuses on four key goals:
- Hosting high-level jazz performances for visitors
- Offering free live music to support local businesses
- Training the next generation of Sitka musicians, in partnership with MEHS and music teacher Heather Gluth
- Promoting Sitka Jazz Week concerts through cruise lines
Fabian is also the creative force behind the Native Jazz Workshop, the Native Jazz Quartet, and Jazzmas, a holiday jazz concert presented each December at Stevenson Hall.
