Help Shape Sitka's Renewable Energy Strategy
Join us for our Spring Speaker Series on Wednesday, May 27th. At this roundtable led by Bri Gabel, Sustainability Coordinator with the City and Borough of Sitka, business leaders are invited to share their priorities for future energy needs to help guide energy-related community decisions through 2050! The resulting roadmap will be a shared vision that drives future energy planning for Sitka. Your contribution will determine if your future needs will be met. The discussion topics include: reliability, affordability, innovation, sustainability/ renewability, and self-sufficiency.
About the Strategy
The Sitka Community Renewable Energy Strategy (SCRES) is a City of and Borough Sitka-led project heavily supported and guided by its Sustainability Commission. The project is grant-funded through the U.S. Department of Energy's Energy Technology Innovation Partnership Project (ETIPP). Through ETIPP, CBS is partnered with the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) and the Renewable Energy Alaska Project (REAP) to work on SCRES.
This event will be held in-person at Harrigan Centennial Hall in Room 6. Doors open at 11:30 am and the roundtable will run until 1:00 pm. Lunch will be catered by Our Town Catering for $25 with pre-registration only. A Zoom option is available and the recording will be share on the Chamber's Facebook page.
