Bio                                                                                                                                            Sherry Aitken is a child of Sitka - going from Baranof Elementary to graduation at Sitka High.  Traveling out of Sitka frequently while growing up seems to have lit a passion for exploring.  With all the normal Alaskan plane, ferry and fishing boat running around; plus visiting throughout the lower 48 and Canada with family, it did not take long to jump an ocean.  She quickly branched out to several European adventures including a summer living in Paris before and during her senior year of high school.

After a "it's just a summer job" detour of 13 years working for Seafood Producers Cooperative while attending and graduating from Baylor University in Texas, Sherry moved professionally into the travel industry including stints in the transportation, lodging, cruise line, restaurant and tour segments.  She holds a BA in the double majors of Journalism and Foreign Service...Or as her son say's "nothing to do with your job."     
Currently the director of tourism for Visit Sitka at Sitka Chamber, Sherry loves nothing more then telling Sitka's story so maybe that journalism helps a little.                                                     

 Andy Rogers - Executive Director for Alaska Business Week, will be in Southeast Alaska to speak about the 2018 ABW entrepreneurship camps and some exciting opportunities for Southeast students in the near future.
