Presentation will cover the research conducted on the recent discovery of the Russian American Company Frigate Neva shipwreck off of Kruzoff Island.
Biography
During the course of over 30 years of diverse experience in Alaska archaeology, Dave developed a particular interest in the archaeology of Russian America. During 1995-1998, he led excavations at Castle Hill, the colonial capitol of Russian America. Since 2004, he has played key roles in several joint U.S. - Russian research and outreach projects in Siberia and Alaska, and was a founding member of the International Association of Specialists on Russian America (IASRA). Presently, as the Lead researcher for the Neva Expedition and is in Sitka attending the Alaska Anthropological Association Annual Meeting along with his research team.
