Biography
Mim McConnell has lived in Southeast Alaska (Juneau, Port Alexander and Sitka) since 1975. She is the owner of Shelter Cove Publishing, a web and graphic design business operating since 1998, and Sitka Through Four Seasons, a visitors guide. She has been involved in her communities in many capacities such as local government, school board, workshop presenter, commercial fisheries, subsistence council, socio-economic issues, and business and community planning. She is currently Mayor of the City and Borough of Sitka; co-founder and president of the non-profit Easter Group, working on homelessness and hunger issues; and is executive director of Sitka Community Development Corporation, a non-profit starting a Community Land Trust in Sitka that will address affordable housing issues.
