Les and Evy Kinnear, co-founders of Fortress of The Bear are presenting an overall look at Fortress’s history, present day and its future as both a bear rescue facility and a visitor center.  .

Biography
While Les has spent the last 35 years in Sitka, working for the Forest Service, and as Master Guide and Charter company owner, Evy came to Sitka in 2002 and joined Les to help realize his vision for Fortress.  She is a former teacher, business owner and world traveler.  This project has been an endeavor of love and hard work that the community of Sitka has now integrated into its complex fabric.
