Biography
After graduating from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks in 1978 Dean moved to Sitka to work for the Alaska Pulp Corporation. After the pulp mill closed in 1993 he came to work for the City of Sitka’s Electric Department as a Generation Engineer. After the re-licensing of the existing Blue Lake Project was complete in 2007, he began focusing all his time and energy on the design of the Blue Lake Expansion Project and is now the City’s project manager.  When asked what his hobbies were (besides bike riding, hiking and swimming) he said, "I'm just obsessed with this (Blue Lake Expansion) project."
