Biography
In September of 2006, Kathie Wasserman became the Executive Director of the Alaska Municipal League. She has been active in Alaska local politics since the mid 1980s. During that time she has served as the president of the Southeast Island School Board, mayor of the City of Kasaan, assembly member of the City and Borough of Sitka, mayor of the City of Pelican, president of the Alaska Conference of Mayors, vice-chair of the Local Boundary Commission, board member of the Alaska Municipal League and a member of the Conference of Alaskans, modeled after the Alaskan Constitutional framers of 50 years ago. Ms. Wasserman had her own business for many years, specializing in contracting to local governments where her specialty was grant writing.
