Biography
Al Clough is a Certified Professional Geologist with over 30 years of experience throughout Alaska, the lower 48 states, and Western Australia.  He has authored and co-authored numerous papers on Alaskan mineral resources including one on diamond exploration potential in Interior Alaska’s Circle Mining District.

Al began his career with the State of Alaska while attending college; working on the State Ferry Wickersham.  He has also served as Deputy Commissioner for the Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development.  Prior to taking over as SE Region Director, Clough was Manager of Roads to Resources for DOT&PF headquarters.

As a licensed Commercial pilot, Al has flown scheduled, charter, and air tours on float and wheel equipped aircraft throughout Southeast Alaska.  He is a lifelong Alaskan, raised in Juneau and is a Juneau- Douglas High School graduate. 

He holds a BA Degree in Geology from Western State College of Colorado and a MS in Geology from the University of Idaho.
